Pray. Wait. Trust.

Pray. Wait. Trust.

November 18, 2020

Isaiah 40:31 “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

The last two weeks have been an exhausting battle.  In my life, Jesus is usually silent when my faith and trust in Him are being tested.  All I can see is a giant wall and no way around it, but I know you, Jesus.  I know you are here watching me and waiting for the appointed time to break down the walls of my Jericho.  I will keep marching while I… Pray.  Wait.  Trust.

My heart breaks when you’re silent, Jesus.  I miss you.  I don’t know why you are silent right now and it makes me sad, but I know you are here with me with a chair pulled up next to me as I write this.  I can’t see where you are or what you’re doing, but I trust you.   I trust our relationship and know you are near.  I can’t see anything other than this giant wall in my way, but I will be faithful to keep marching steadily until you say to stop.  Father God, give me strength in this endurance to keep marching forth.

What do you do when you feel like God is silent?

Are you steady in your walk with Jesus?

Will you keep marching forth until He says to stop?

Will you be faithful in the unknown?

We must remain steady.  It’s tempting to drift away and stop marching when you can’t see the outcome or hear God’s direction.  Running away or forcing your own way is not the way.  In these moments, we must remain steady in our faithfulness to Him.  Pray.  Wait.  Trust.  Trust that God is making a way for you.  God is fighting for you in the unseen.  When you feel like you have nothing left, know that God is WITH you, and you are lacking nothing.  Trust Him in the waiting. He knows your every need and is your provider.

I keep marching forth with your strength holding me up to endure while I eagerly await your arrival, Jesus.  In my waiting, I will be steady in the last thing you said.  All I can do is my best for the day, broken and all, trusting that your grace is sufficient and that I have all I need.  Today this is my best.  Take and do with it as you please.  Every last drop of me I put into your hands.  I know you are there, and you have a plan.

I submit to you and your ways.

To give you glory is all I want.

To delight in you is my deepest desire.

Do with me as you please.

Jesus, refine me with your fire and purify my heart.  Knit me together with you so I can never leave your side.  You have been faithful and will continue to be faithful.  Let me be found faithful when you return.  I will…  Pray.  Wait.  Trust.
